Update September 2017: New ‘Vintage / Unique’ Shop: CUT Market opening soon in Wailuku!

Update January 2016: Just saw this on Ask the Mayor and thought it was helpful:

Dear Mayor,

Q: I have a couple of car seats that my child has outgrown and I was wondering what I can do with them. Secondhand stores don’t take them and I don’t want them to go in the landfill. Mahalo.

A: You can take the car seats to Ka Hale A Ke Ola homeless shelter. They will accept them there. The shelter is located at 670 Waiale Road in Wailuku.

It seems like everyday a new thrift or consignment store is opening up, and another one is closing down. The only website that I can find with a complete listing of thrift shops on Maui is dated 2004, meaning its over ten years old, and of course, half of those places are closed.

So, here’s my list of thrift and consignment stores currently (to the best of my knowledge, and please send me or comment with updates) operating on Maui.   (There are a few second-hand furniture stores that are not on this list, but if you know of a GREAT one, let me know)

Our customers know they can find great designers, and now vintage hawaiian muumuu’s and aloha shirts.  I love when we get in pretty dresses, and beach tunics (especially Le Tarte) and designer denim. A few great denim labels are;Paige,AG,Seven,Current Elliott,Mother,J Brand, Tees we love are James Perse, Velvet, Susanna Monaco. Any Clothing from anthropologie, and H&M customers love. 1. Liz, this is a good list, and yes those shops change quite a bit! In Haiku, there were 3 and they are all dead in the water now, except for that new one. There are a few thrift shops in Kahului and Wailuku with some of the churches, though I couldn’t tell you all the names. I see them driving on Lower Main, etc. Revive is a cool store. I think Tania of http://www.mauishopgirl.com and I have both blogged about it. Of course, MFOL is wonderful, and the “new” store in the Queen K center is much appreciated. MFOL also has a Lahaina store. Please check out my post on the Ecycling: http://www.mauijungalow.com/2011/11/e-cycling-ecycling-electronics-and.html. Aloha!

    • I do think there are a few church related ones that I may have missed, but I included the St. Anthony’s one on Mill… that one has decent hours and is easy to find – i really like the Kula Hospital one too – crazy treasures to find! the best part of this blog is that i can update it as i get new info!

  2. What a great idea for a post! The Kala Iki Thrift Store in Kula has a stellar collection of books. The last time I was there, the woman in front of me was walking out with cardboard soda trays filled with books. I was there for quite some time browsing the collection myself, and walked away with some great deals. So yeah, any book lovers should definitely check it out.

  3. Check out Da Warehouse Imports and Liquidation in Kaanapali. They Liquidate furniture from several major hotels on Maui, Lanai, Kauai and Oahu. They also import some items from indonesia. Their prices and service is outstanding. They are located at 30 Halawai Drive near Dollar rental car. Contact number is 808-639-3246 or 808-639-3609

    • This is fantastic Gary – I just wish it wasn’t such a long drive! I will have to come out one of these days – i’m in need of a decent dresser! Do you have a website or post on Craigslist?

  4. […] stores listed here carry primarily NEW furniture – for used furniture stores, click on this link.  This is not the complete list, stores will be added as I gather the information… […]

  5. I love that you’re able to update as time passes, thank you.
I’ve recently opened my shop Droplets. in Makawao. I carry children’s gently worn consignment clothing and curated gifts. I currently also work with 16 local Maui and 11 other Hawaii Island designers and artists who make new product for me for the store. The store is a little bit of both, old and new and customers, locals and tourists alike, thrive for it. I love supporting the local community so on top of consigning if you are an artist or designer of children items please feel free to reach out and connect with me. I’m continuously looking and growing my MADE IN HAWAII product line! Mahalo and Aloha, Beate 808.205.1751

Rebecca’s Closet Resale is very good! Great variety and selection at low prices! Must see for those still unaware of it. Across from Ace On Alamaha.

  7. This is a great list! I’ll be visiting family in Wailuku this coming weekend and can’t wait to check out the shops! I live in Honolulu and love thrifting! Thank you so much for this list!

  8. Sandra Lee Akaka said:

What a great little site, thank you! One other little thrift shop that I love is over at St Thersa’s, first Sunday of the month. On lower haiku road. I found a pair of London fly boots for 50 cents:-)
    A hui ho,
    Sandra Lee

  9. Rebecca’s Closet Resale is not related to Elise! It’s in no way related! It is at same location as Elise’s old store was, however it appears from your post the store was a name change. Please correct so people don’t get confused. Mahalo!
